Estadio do Algarve

A modern arena, a historic club
Opened in 2004, the Algarve Stadium is a modern, multi-purpose venue located between the cities of Faro and Loulé, in the south of Portugal. With a seating capacity of approximately 30,000, it was originally built for the UEFA Euro 2004 and is recognized for its distinctive architecture that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding landscape of the Algarve region.
The stadium regularly hosts professional national football competitions, as well as UEFA and FIFA events — including senior national team qualification matches, European club competitions, and international women’s football tournaments such as the Algarve Cup. It has also served as the home venue for the Gibraltar national team during UEFA qualifiers.
Beyond football, the Algarve Stadium accommodates a variety of other events, including concerts, motorsport races, and community activities. It is part of a broader sports complex and plays a key role in the promotion of sport and tourism in southern Portugal, with ongoing efforts focused on sustainability and improving the overall visitor experience.
