Supported by the Pink Bows Foundation, Showstop® is a globally recognised and well proven protocol for safer events. The Showstop® Procedure course creates qualified Showstop managers who can confidently intervene to manage a crisis in a stadium.
Added value to ESSMA
Stadium safety is an integral part of ESSMA’s mission. As well as their usual matches, many ESSMA members host concerts and other events. These are different from field sports. If a life-threatening situation arises, such as crowd issues, fire or a terrorist attack, do ESSMA members know how to stop the show so the incident can be managed? Experience shows that the arrangements are often unclear. The Showstop® Procedure course offers ESSMA members a simple and proven protocol which can be deployed at all types of stadium events. The course was developed and accredited in 2025, based on two decades of successful implementation by its creators, Steve Allen and Dr Mark Hamilton. The one-day course for stadium, safety and security managers culminates in a written examination to gain the professional Showstop® accreditation.
